Over the last eight weeks, I revealed the steps of the Student Section Rebuild.

If you implement each of the previous steps, you will see results.

But there is one final component, and arguably it’s the most important.

It will help student sections start.

It will help student sections build.

It will help student sections grow.

It will help student sections sustain.

Athletic administrators need it.

Student leaders need it.

What is it?

A Growth Mindset.

Here is Carol Dweck’s definition:

"In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment."

Here is my revised definition:

"In a growth mindset, students and athletic administrators believe that their student section can be developed through dedication and hard work—leadership, marketing and last year’s ideas are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment."

Students and administrators who adopt this mindset WILL change culture, innovate and drive results.

Attendance will increase, engagement will explode and students will become Biggest Fans.

It’s cause and effect.

It's a simple formula: Focused Effort x Time = Results

EVERY student section always has room to grow, regardless if they’re starting out, looking to build, losing momentum or well established.

I'd like to end the Student Section Rebuild with a question...

I believe you can grow your student section next year and accomplish great things.

Do you?

If you are ready to grow…
